Practicing law since 2008, Taylor Porter Partner Cindy Amedee represents health care clients in a wide variety of health care matters, advising clients on health care transactions, mergers and acquisitions, federal and state health care compliance and regulation, HIPAA, hospital system vendor relationships and purchasing transactions, as well as representing clients on health information technology issues, with an emphasis on the privacy and security of electronic medical records and the exchange of patient health information via technology systems.
Cindy represents large, private and public hospital systems, research institutes, physicians, practice groups, and psychiatric and mental health care facilities. Recently, she served as part of the team of Taylor Porter attorneys who restructured the operations of the statewide public hospital system into a public-private hospital model.
Cindy is ranked by her peers among the 2017 Louisiana Rising Stars in Health Care Law.
Cindy is a published author and has lectured on several topics, including HIPAA regulations and the Affordable Care Act’s impact on employers. She frequently conducts HIPAA trainings for clients. She has also addressed mental health law issues, with an emphasis on emergency certificate and judicial commitment issues.
Cindy is a member of the Board of Directors of Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and a member of the Health Care Council for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.
