Preston J. Castille, Jr. is engaged primarily in business litigation and transactions. Mr. Castille is also an adjunct Professor of Law at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and the Southern University Law Center where he teaches Louisiana Civil Procedure I & II and Pretrial Litigation Practice. Mr. Castille was appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court as Judge Pro Tempore in 2009 and continues to periodically serve as an ad hoc judge. In addition to being an experienced litigator in both state and federal court, Mr. Castille assists clients with matters involving the Louisiana Legislature and other state and local governmental entities. In addition, he serves as general counsel to numerous private, public and governmental entities.
Mr. Castille is President Elect of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. He served on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana State Bar Association from 2001-2004 and is currently a member of the House of Delegates. Mr. Castille is also active in the Louisiana Hospital Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and Louis A. Martinet Legal Society Baton Rouge Chapter President, 1998-2000; Foundation Chairman, 2001-2002. In 2000, The Baton Rouge Business Report, a local publication, named Mr. Castille to the “Top 40 Under 40" list for his accomplishments and involvement in the business community. He also graduated from the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce’s 1997 Leadership class.
Mr. Castille graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in economics in 1990. From there he received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University in 1994. While at Southern, he was a member of the Louisiana Board of Regents for Higher Education and president of the Student Government Association. In law school, Mr. Castille was a member of the Tulane Moot Court Board (1993-1994) and the Tulane National Environmental Law Moot Court Team (1992-1993). Upon graduation, Mr. Castille was selected to The Order of Barristers.
