Robert L. Coco's practice is concentrated in environmental and regulatory law. His experience includes representing clients in whistleblower matters, NORM- (naturally occurring radioactive material) issues, air permitting issues, and matters before OSHA.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Coco worked for the Louisiana Department of Justice on construction litigation cases and represented the State Office of Telecommunications on matters involving the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Federal Communications Commission. He also worked for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality ("LDEQ"), where he served as an in-house counsel. At LDEQ he worked on both enforcement and permitting matters for all media, while also representing the Inactive and Abandoned Sites Division on remediation of state superfund sites and the Nuclear Energy Division on radiation matters including NORM. Prior to law school, Mr. Coco worked as an engineer for two major utilities, first as an onsite construction engineer during the construction of the Waterford III nuclear station and later as a plant systems engineer and a reactor engineer at Riverbend Nuclear Station.
He is an active member of the Louisiana Society of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and is a member of the American Nuclear Society. Mr. Coco was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America ®.
