Edward “Ted” Laperouse, Jr., is a partner in our firm whose practice is focused primarily in construction and commercial litigation. Mr. Laperouse is in his ninth year of practice and is licensed as an attorney in both Louisiana and Texas. Before joining Taylor Porter in July of 2004, Mr. Laperouse practiced construction law in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Laperouse represents and counsels clients in all facets of the construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, owners, manufacturers, homebuilders, architects, and engineers. His practice includes both litigation and transactional work, and he routinely handles construction defect claims, breach of contract disputes, delay and acceleration claims, mechanic's lien and bond claim issues, contract reviews, OSHA citations, and jobsite negligence claims.
Mr. Laperouse is admitted to practice before all state courts in Texas and Louisiana, as well before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry. Mr. Laperouse is also active in the Pelican Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors and the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Construction Financial Managers Association.
Mr. Laperouse is a 1998 graduate of Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served as Governor of the 13th Circuit for the American Bar Association-Law Student Division. Before attending law school, Mr. Laperouse received his B.A. in journalism from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
