Taylor Porter attorneys have represented business professionals (physicians, other health care professionals, pharmacists, nurses, accountants, architects, engineers, etc.) in disciplinary and malpractice matters and in other professional liability claims.

These claims threaten not only a professional's ability to practice, but also the company or firm’s ability to operate effectively. We work to help professionals find resolution of these matters quickly and efficiently.

Our representative experience in professional liability includes:

  • Defending lawyers and law firms in claims by clients and others for malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, and similar claims.
  • Defending clients in malpractice actions brought forth against attorneys, with experience in contingency fee cases and matters.
  • Defending physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other health care professionals in malpractice matters, and in licensure and accreditation disputes.
  • Defending accountants in malpractice claims.
  • Investigating, negotiating and counseling professional organizations and individuals.
  • Identifying potential problems and risks within a practice and developing safeguards to prevent or minimize professional liability claims.
  • Defending professionals against claims of violation of professional or ethical standards or engaging in criminal conduct.

In addition, several Taylor Porter attorneys have experience in matters of bar admission or attorney disciplinary matters by virtue of their prior service on the Louisiana Supreme Court committees that regulate lawyer licensing and practice.
