WORKERS' COMPENSATION

Our attorneys have defended workers’ compensation lawsuits around the state.  We currently serve as lead counsel on these matters for Fortune 500 businesses and smaller companies.  We not only defend them in disputed litigation, but also ensure that their adjusters and risk managers are aware of the current state of the law and that their policies, procedures and practices comply with the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act.  This includes making certain that the proper individuals in a company are aware of the penalties associated with the failure to comply with this Act.  We provide the adjusters and risk managers with the necessary forms associated with workers’ compensation claims and ensure that those individuals understand how to properly utilize these forms.  In addition, we specialize in seeking reimbursement from the Second Injury Fund on behalf of our clients and recovery of benefits paid to employees in the context of third party tort suits.  Finally, due to the full-service nature of our firm, we are able to efficiently and effectively handle employee lawsuits that are filed in district court and make certain that these suits reach the proper forum.
