Amy Groves Lowe to Speak on Effective Jury Selection at LSBA Voodoo Fest Seminar

Taylor Porter Partner Amy Groves Lowe has been asked to be a co-presenter on "Casting Out Spirits - Effective Jury Selection," part of the Louisiana State Bar Association's annual Voodoo Fest CLE seminar, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 26, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. This year's theme is "A Jury Trial Haunting" as attorneys from across the state discuss various jury and trial topics, including persuasive opening statements; what makes an effective closing argument; tips for a successful direct examination; tips for a revealing cross examination; and ethics in the courtroom.

Groves Lowe will be joined by attorney James Brown of Liskow & Lewis, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Practicing law since 1997, Groves Lowe has a litigation practice in various areas of law, including insurance defense, labor and employment, education law and appellate practice. In addition to her litigation experience, she has a Master of Arts in Psychology (LSU, 1994). She has combined her expertise in these two areas by being frequently utilized as a jury consultant, assisting other litigators in jury selection, pre-trial research, and statistical analysis and serving as a litigation consultant in expert and lay witness preparation. In addition, she has conducted numerous CLEs and seminars on the issue of jury selection and effective and ethical presentation to juries. Groves Lowe ranks among Best Lawyers in America (peer-voted) in Education Law for her work representing universities and high schools in labor and employment issues and insurance defense. She also acts as coverage counsel to numerous insurers in cases filed in Louisiana state and federal courts and defends several state boards. Groves Lowe was named to Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Top 40 Under 40” for her successes in her practice and her commitment to the professional and community scene in Baton Rouge. She is an alumnus of the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Baton Rouge class.
