Attorneys Mentor Melrose Elementary Students Through City Year Baton Rouge

February 18, 2016

Taylor Porter partnered with City Year Baton Rouge as attorneys (pictured from left) Scott Mansfield, Kelley Dick Jr., and Trey Tumminello, III, mentored and met with third graders of the 'Gentleman of Greatness' group at Melrose Elementary.

City Year Baton Rouge hosts several events throughout the year for partners and community members to discuss important education topics. Since 2005, City Year has mentored students in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, impacting close to 4,200 students across Louisiana, and in Baton Rouge, deploying 72 highly skilled AmeriCorps members to serve in four elementary, middle, and high schools. Together, these highly skilled AmeriCorps members are transforming the future for more than 3,000 students.

In the community, Taylor Porter attorneys and staff embrace the role of “corporate citizens” — and our firm understands that community stewardship requires an ongoing commitment from our entire firm. Whether serving on the boards of directors of nonprofit organizations or making contributions to worthwhile causes, our attorneys and staff make significant contributions to the communities in which they live and work.
