Crochet Serves as Guest Speaker for LSU’s “The Rhetoric of Environmental Action” Class

Taylor Porter Partner and Environmental Law Attorney Anne Crochet served as a guest speaker Thursday for LSU’s “The Rhetoric of Environmental Action” class, held in Allen Hall and taught by Prof. Lillian Bridwell-Bowles.

Crochet discussed her practice with several prospective law school students and English majors, and stressed the importance of communication and the use of proper rhetoric and language in dealing with clients and regulatory agencies through her practice in environmental law.  

Crochet is an LSU alum, receiving a B.A. in Journalism from Louisiana State University in 1980, and her J.D. from Louisiana State University in 1983.

For more than 30 years, Crochet has represented major corporations by providing regulatory compliance advice, securing permits for new and expanded facilities, defending regulatory enforcement actions and protecting interests through litigation. She counsels generators, recyclers, transporters, and operators of treatment, storage, and disposal facilities in the areas of air, water, and especially solid and hazardous waste management. She also provides advice in commercial transactions, real estate transfers and cost recovery actions involving environmental issues.

Crochet is a contributing author of the annual edition of Louisiana Environmental Compliance, a detailed overview of existing programs and a guide and training manual for dealing with environmental compliance issues.

Crochet is a past chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association Environmental Law Council. She is a member of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry Environmental Council and of the Air & Waste Management Association and its affiliated Louisiana chapter.
