Taylor Porter Partner Eddie Hughes has been elected Board Vice Chair of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, which supplies food to 156 agencies in the Baton Rouge area and through these agencies, the Food Bank supplies about 9.5 million meals to the hungry in the Baton Rouge area every year. The total need is around 21 million meals per year, making the gap 11.5 million meals.

In January, Taylor Porter concluded its month long holiday food drive today by finishing with a collection of 265 pounds of food and donations totaling $1,530 for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, and then several attorneys and staff volunteered on site for a three-hour shift this morning sorting food donations and assembling sorted items into food boxes, totaling 6,243 pounds of food for approximately 1,100 families in need.

At Taylor Porter, Hughes practices in commercial litigation, oil and gas litigation and transactions, toxic tort litigation, and insurance defense and casualty litigation. Hughes serves as Special Mineral Counsel for the East Baton Rouge City-Parish Government. He has argued before Louisiana state and federal district courts, Louisiana appellate courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
