The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) has released a "New Tax Burdens on Employers" report, resulting from the Louisiana Legislature voting on two dozen bills in the first four months of 2016 that raise more than $3.5 billion in new tax revenue from individuals and employers over the next five years. The bills are designed to address a multi-year deficit in state government, including a projected $750 million deficit for fiscal year 2017.

The report was unveiled Friday, April 8, at LABI's tax summit, and the report summarizes the new tax laws, describes the dollar figures, and status of the state budget situation.

The LABI is a statewide business advocacy group representing more than 2,200 business members across Louisiana.
