Taylor Porter Partner Amy Lambert was featured in a Baton Rouge Business Report article on "The Rising Ranks of Female Attorneys in Baton Rouge," discussing the trend of an increase in the number of female attorneys, and also female attorneys in leadership positions.

The article reports, "Female attorneys have been climbing in number since 1980, when just 8 percent of U.S. lawyers were women. Today, women have come to claim 36 percent of the profession, according to the American Bar Association. Louisiana, for once, is on par with the national trend. Women represent 35 percent of state lawyers, a 7 percent increase since 2004 when the Louisiana State Bar Association began tracking data by gender. What’s more, as their numbers grow, women are taking on leadership roles statewide. The LSBA is currently led by its fourth female president since 2006, when its first woman was elected."

In Baton Rouge, women comprise 38 percent of Baton Rouge area attorneys, while the Baton Rouge Bar Association has had six female presidents, starting in 1995. The next two presidents elect are also women, including Lambert, the 2019 BRBA President-Elect and current Treasurer. She also was a formerly-elected Chairman of the Young Lawyers Council for the BRBA.

In the article, Lambert said women can bring new perspectives and different ways of thinking to the table. “Diverse perspectives matter. We’re a better as a profession for it.”

Since 1997, Lambert’s practice has centered on litigation in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. She routinely represents companies and individuals in federal and state class action and other complex litigation claims. In addition, Lambert has represented physicians, hospitals, and nursing homes in malpractice suits and commercial litigation, and has represented companies in commercial disputes, unfair trade practice claims, and breach of contract cases. Lambert also has defended businesses in various types of work-place injury claims and premise liability claims, and has significant experience with mass tort claims, insurance coverage disputes, regulatory agency issues, insurance defense, and personal injury claims. Lambert serves as the co-chair of Taylor Porter's professional liability, insurance, casualty, product liability and personal injury litigation practice.

Lambert has been inducted into the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame, and was recognized in 2005 as one of Baton Rouge Business Report's “Top Forty Under 40." Lambert is an elected member of the Board of Governors and chair of the Youth Education Committee for Theatre Baton Rouge, one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the nation, and is the past president of the Board of Directors for Playmakers of Baton Rouge, a non-profit professional theatre company for young audiences. She is an active member of St. Aloysius Church Parish, and past member of the Executive Committee of the Wex Malone American Inns of Court.
