LSU Law Class of 2016 Graduates Sanchez, Anzelmo Join Taylor Porter

Taylor Porter is proud to announce the hiring of LSU Law Class of 2016 graduates Clare E. Sanchez and Charles A. Anzelmo as new Associates to the firm. Sanchez practices in various areas of litigation, including commercial, general, investigations and white collar defense, and insurance. Anzelmo is engaged primarily in the areas of Health Care Licensing and Regulations, and Transactional Law. 

Sanchez was a former law clerk at Taylor Porter, both in 2014 and 2015. She has also clerked at Kean Miller and Jones Walker in Baton Rouge, where she gained experience in several practice areas including insurance defense and litigation, real estate transactions, employment law, health law, bankruptcy, criminal defense, and family law.

Sanchez earned her J.D. in 2016 from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. As a law student, she served as a member of the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors, Executive President of the Student Bar Association, Senior Associate and Issue Editor on the Louisiana Law Review, and the LSU Law Center Moot Court Board. She earned CALI awards in Louisiana Law of Obligations, Administration of Criminal Justice, Legal Research & Writing, Comparative Company Law, Sports Law, and Bioethics. Sanchez graduated from Westminster College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, and served as Vice-President of Kappa Alpha Theta and as Panhellenic Council President. She also served as a senator and Executive Officer of Westminster’s Student Government and was named Senator of the Year. She was awarded the Distinguished Service award for her dedication as a Student Ambassador, and named Outstanding Greek Council member by the academic honor society, Order of Omega.

Anzelmo was a former law clerk at Taylor Porter and also clerked at law firms in Lafayette and Shreveport, as well as at the Division of Administration in Baton Rouge, where he gained experience in several practice areas including mineral and real estate title examination, contract disputes, construction law, general tort law, real estate law, and oil and gas law.  

Anzelmo earned his J.D. in 2016 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the Chancellor’s List and earned a CALI Excellence Award in Real Estate Transactions. While in law school, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the LSU Journal of Energy Law and Resources, Volume IV. He graduated from Louisiana State University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Construction Management with a minor in Business, and Kinesiology: Human Movement (Physical Therapy).

Prior to law school, Anzelmo worked in the commercial construction industry as a project manager and site superintendent in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. He also worked as an independent petroleum landman.
