Lunceford Speaks on Libel, Courtroom Access, Newsgathering Issues with LSU Manship Students

Taylor Porter Partner Lloyd Lunceford served as a guest lecturer today at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication, speaking to future journalism, broadcast, and public relations professionals, as he taught on the prevention and defense of libel suits, courtroom access, and related newsgathering issues.

For more than 25 years, Lunceford represented The Advocate, Baton Rouge’s daily newspaper, and other former Manship-owned media outlets. His current communications-related practice focuses on assisting municipal, parish, and state governmental agencies and public bodies in the application of Louisiana’s "sunshine laws" - the Open Meetings and Public Records Acts. Lunceford's practice also includes education law and general civil litigation, and he is a noted national authority on church property law.

In addition to the Manship School, Lunceford has served as a guest lecturer at LSU Law Center, and has also spoken at Continuing Legal Education seminars and at church property symposia throughout the United States.
