Taylor Porter attorney Ashley Meredith has been elected to the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Louisiana Chapter.

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF's mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. JDRF has invested more than $2 billion in research funding since inception. JDRF is an organization built on a grassroots model of people connecting in their local communities, collaborating regionally for efficiency and broader fundraising impact, and uniting on a national stage to pool resources, passion, and energy. JDRF collaborates with academic institutions, policymakers, and corporate and industry partners to develop and deliver a pipeline of innovative therapies to people living with T1D. Staff and volunteers throughout the United States and six international affiliates are dedicated to advocacy, community engagement and vision of a world without T1D.

At Taylor Porter, Meredith practices in a wide array of areas including commercial transactions, banking, commercial litigation, healthcare compliance and environmental law. Meredith graduated in 2014 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she served as senior editor of the Louisiana Law Review and as copy editor and contributing news writer for The Civilian. Meredith graduated in 2011 from Louisiana State University, where she received her bachelor of arts in Mass Communication and minored in Political Science. She was also a member of LSU Honors College.

In the community, Meredith is an active member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the organization’s various community service projects; Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Hospital Association, and the American Bar Association. She is a volunteer and participant for several community organizations, including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge, and community fundraising drives through the Baton Rouge Bar Association, such as the Holiday Star Project.
