Peak “Makes Amazing Gumbo Again” to Raise Money for Homeless Vets

January 31, 2017

Taylor Porter Partner Tom Peak participated in the 7th Annual Watson's Bird and Sausage Gumbo Cookoff, benefiting the Quad Vets Transitional Housing Program in Hammond and previously benefiting other veteran programs/charities, including Wounded Warriors. The event was held in Denham Springs.

The theme of this year's event was "Making Gumbo Great Again," and thus Peak's team sported the name, "Making Amazing Gumbo Again." Peak and his team helped serve approximately 3,500 people at the event as attendees sampled 50 gumbos and enjoyed live music and a kids’ area.

At Taylor Porter, Peak is a labor and employment attorney, frequently presenting seminar topics on labor and employment law, and authoring articles in the Baton Rouge Business Report on workplace issues and trends.

In the community, Taylor Porter attorneys and staff embrace the role of “corporate citizens” — and our firm understands that community stewardship requires an ongoing commitment from our entire firm. Whether serving on the boards of directors of nonprofit organizations or making contributions to worthwhile causes, our attorneys and staff make significant contributions to the communities in which they live and work.
