Taylor Porter attorneys Lauren Rivera and Bob Barton participated in the 2015 St. Jude Memphis Half Marathon and helped Team Parker raise more than $160,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In total, the marathon weekend in Memphis raised a record $8.2 million to battle cancer and other life-threatening diseases that affect children.
The annual race, which helps raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, had more than 20,000 runners. It costs $2 million a day to operate St. Jude.
Team Parker is dedicated to Parker Rivera, Lauren's brother, who passed away on January 4, 2015, at St. Jude, after a difficult battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Parker was a 15-year old freshman at Lafayette High School in Baton Rouge.
