​Taylor Porter Partner and Healthcare Practice Team Leader Pat Seiter was featured in the Friday edition of the Healthcare Journal of Baton Rouge News Update, for being ranked, by his peers, “Lawyer of the Year” in Baton Rouge in Healthcare Law in the 2018 edition of Best Lawyers in America®. Best Lawyers is an annual list compiled since 1983, and universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Rankings are based on a peer-review survey, in which more than 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas.

This is the third time Seiter has received “Lawyer of the Year” honors by Best Lawyers, after receiving the same recognition in both 2013 and 2016.

Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” recognitions are awarded to individual attorneys with the highest overall peer feedback for a specific practice area and geographic location. Only one attorney is recognized as the “Lawyer of the Year” for each specialty and location.

Practicing law since 1985, Seiter represents and advises healthcare clients in a wide range of business, transactional, and regulatory matters, including business organizations and contracts, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, managed care and provider network contracts, fraud and abuse, Stark, health information technology, HIPAA, EMTALA, medical staff, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, federal and state regulatory compliance, and alternative delivery and payment systems. He also has extensive experience and a particular interest in the unique relationships and challenges of academic medicine.

Seiter is a frequent author and lecturer on legal issues in healthcare. Along with his Juris Doctorate, he also holds a Masters of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Healthcare Organizations and Policy. He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Alabama.
