Both Southern and LSU have established disaster relief funds assist students and employees affected by Baton Rouge's record flooding.

The Southern University Flood Relief Fund has been established to assist University students and employees that have been significantly impacted by the recent widespread area flooding. Record level flooding, and cresting along rivers and creeks have affected many Louisiana communities, with more than 20,000 Louisiana citizens having to be rescued.

At the request of LSU President F. King Alexander, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation has established an LSU Employee Assistance Fund to help LSU employees experiencing hardships because of the flooding. LSU’s employee assistance fund was established through BRAF’s Employee 1st Program.

Financial donations for LSU students can be made to the Student Disaster Relief Fund through the LSU Foundation.
