Taylor Porter Fields Team in Red Stick Roux Rally Gumbeaux Cook-Off

Taylor Porter fielded a team in the 2019 Red Stick Roux Rally, a Gumbeaux Cook-off hosted by KIDS to benefit Youth Oasis, a local children’s homeless shelter. The fundraiser event was held Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Galvez Plaza. Taylor Porter's team consisted of attorneys Tom Peak, Colin Peak, and Coulter McMahen

The event consists of an onsite Gumbeaux cooking competition amongst local amateur cooking teams, live music and entertainment and culminates with a "Best Gumbeaux" and “People’s Choice” awarded to the winners. Proceeds benefit Youth Oasis.
Youth Oasis is a local, nonprofit providing necessary support services to runaway, abandoned, and homeless youth and assisting them in transitioning back into the community in a positive role. Started by a group of young professionals who wanted to make a difference in the Baton Rouge community, K.I.D.S. was founded on the basic principal of Karing Is Doing Something. K.I.D.S. is a nonprofit organization geared to helping and supporting under privileged children and teens in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
