Taylor Porter, through its Diversity Committee, has agreed to host a fifth annual "Dialogue on Race" six-session program, beginning Tuesday, March 10, 2020, and taking place every Tuesday thereafter at the Taylor Porter 8th Floor Phillips Conference Room. The series involves a facilitated, round-table dialogue serving 15 participants about race relations.

Participants are required to attend the first session, which lasts two and a half hours from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and then participants must commit to at least four of the following five sessions on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost for the series is $40.

Dialogue on Race Louisiana is a membership association that brings together organizations, businesses, and individuals that have similar goals of working to end the racial divide. Through this association these groups can be a source of support and inspiration to each other as well as maximize their collective efforts. This community-led process has educated several thousand area residents to understand, identify, and to eliminate institutional racism.

Taylor Porter’s 108-year tradition of excellence in client service and strong commitment to diversity and inclusion throughout our law firm is evidenced by our internal promotion of diversity awareness, recruitment/retention of diverse professionals, leadership by our women and minority attorneys, and through external outreach and impact on the community. In 2017, Taylor Porter’s Diversity Committee launched a firm-wide BUILD (Building Unity, Inclusion, & Legal Diversity) Community Outreach Program. The program was implemented by the Taylor Porter Diversity Committee and designed to further bridge and support the Firm’s diversity efforts, combined with its more than 108 years of traditional community outreach and volunteer work. Through the BUILD program, Taylor Porter will have the opportunity to provide assistance to several diverse community and nonprofits year-round, thereby affecting diverse segments of the community in a most positive and rewarding way.
