Taylor Porter “Jazz"es Up Office with Musical Art Piece

March 11, 2016

As part of the law firm's comprehensive artwork plan with Ann Connelly Fine Art to help find creative and inventive ways to show off the law firm's new space, new conference rooms and highlight the work of various artists, Taylor Porter unveiled the latest art piece on its 8th floor breakroom wall, "Jazz" by Douglas Detiveaux.

Detiveaux created this piece referencing the historic relationship jazz and the entertainment industry hold in South Louisiana. The complex patterns and unique mark making create a dimensional wall covering that serves as the focal area for the breakroom at Taylor Porter. The graphic was custom printed on a thick wall covering and applied to the wall to provide a larger than life image. In the future, this graphic will be interchanged by the team at Taylor Porter with a fresh artist every couple of years. Detiveaux is a practicing artist in Houston and works throughout the country as a designer for Gensler, an integrated architecture, design, planning and consulting firm.

In 2016, Taylor Porter moved into its new space on the 8th, 9th and 10th floors of the North Tower of the Chase Building from the original Chase Building South Tower space. The move enabled Taylor Porter to modernize its offices with Coleman Partners, Cangelosi and Ward and Ann Connelly Fine Art. Taylor Porter is also in the process of renovating and landscaping the 8th Floor Terraces with Joseph Fur Design Studio Landscape Architects that will allow the firm to host outside events that overlook the Capitol and the River.
