Through this weekend and over the last two weeks, Taylor Porter attorneys and staff have volunteered at the Mall of Louisiana to sell raffle tickets for $5 apiece for a chance to win the 2016 CASA Playhouse: A Grand Victorian model, valued at $25,500, with all the funds raised supporting the Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association's advocacy efforts on behalf of abused and neglected children in need of safe, permanent homes.

The "Grand Victorian" was designed by Lilliput Play Homes and constructed by Faulk and Meek General Contractors. This is the 22nd annual CASA playhouse fundraiser to generate public awareness and funding to  support the organization's work.

The drawing for the winner will be held at the Mall of Louisiana on Aug. 14 at 5 p.m., and the winner does not need to be present to win. CASA will deliver the playhouse to the winner within 60 miles of the mall. At the event finale on Aug. 14, there will be a CASA Kids Day with booths at the Mall of Louisiana on children's safety and awareness, and also various entertainment for children of all ages.

Taylor Porter Partner and Executive Committee Member Robin Toups serves as a CASA board member, and retired Partner and current Of Counsel Debbie Lamb served for six years on the board of CASA, serving as board chair in 2015, and she currently serves as chair of the nominating committee.

Taylor Porter attorneys and staff embrace the role of “corporate citizens” — and our firm understands that community stewardship requires an ongoing commitment from our entire firm. Whether serving on the boards of directors of nonprofit organizations or making contributions to worthwhile causes, our attorneys and staff make significant contributions to the communities in which they live and work.
