Taylor Porter participated in the Heritage Ranch 2017 Matt Flynn Invitational, held Tuesday, May 2, at The Bluffs on Thompson Creek Golf and Conference Resort in St. Francisville. The annual golf tournament benefits Zachary-based Heritage Ranch Christian Children's Home, which serves children in the midst of personal or family crisis that require respite, outside the home, for a period of time.

The tournament raised $44,000 to help rebuild the boys’ home from the damage it took from the August 2016 flooding, and also to help provide scholarships and fund counseling sessions. Youth, ages 13-17, live in a family-style home receiving counseling and educational support. The rural setting helps create environmental change for each child and provides a supportive context for modeling family, faith and community values.
