Taylor Porter Partner Michelle Marney White Elected Chair of LSBA Environmental Law Section

Taylor Porter Partner Michelle Marney White has been elected the 2016-2017 Chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association Environmental Law Section, having served on the Section Council since 2010. Her term will begin July 1.

The section, with more than 300 members across the state, sponsors an annual half-day Environmental Law Seminar in the fall and conducts other periodic CLE programs of special interest to environmental section members at other times during the year. The Section also sponsors an annual environmental law essay contest open to students attending any of the four law schools in Louisiana. 

Marney White has been practicing for more than 15 years in environmental law and environmental liability and damages litigation defense, representing clients and facilities in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas in the chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, pulp and paper, solid and hazardous waste transport and disposal, solution mining, rock mining, and fertilizer manufacturing industries. 

Ms. White has represented clients in permitting, licensing, enforcement, incident investigation, and regulatory implementation disputes before the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Mining Safety and Health Administration, and the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as local government agencies and entities such as levee boards and parish emergency response offices.
