Taylor Porter's
Patent and Technology Transfer practice includes complete patent prosecution and strategic counseling services, including the prosecuting and licensing of patent applications and patents for corporate and state clients, including Louisiana State University; prosecuting and defending patent infringement cases; and aiding in the compliance with state and federal regulations. Our admittance before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) gives our attorneys valuable perspective on patent and trademark issues. Our Firm has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications on behalf of university clients in a wide range of technologies. Our attorneys have extensive technical background knowledge regarding the various scientific fields and wide array of disciplines from which these patented technologies are created, enabling our attorneys to fully interact with the inventors, engineers, scientists, and product designers, and provide a quick turnaround to the patent process. Our attorneys further have experience working with both university inventors and technology managers to identify patentable aspects contained within university research, and to turn this research into a profitable asset. We also counsel our university clients on strategies to maximize the value of their properties through licensing, particularly through drafting and negotiating licensing agreements.
