Taylor Porter was a proud sponsor of the Fourth Annual Crime Stoppers of Greater Baton Rouge Law Enforcement Appreciation Awards Luncheon, held May 11, at the Renaissance Hotel.

Several law enforcement officers and departments were recognized during the awards ceremony. The local Crime Stoppers chapter, which is a privately owned, nonprofit that is the voice of concerned citizens that wish to report crime information anonymously, serves eight parishes, including East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, East and West Feliciana, Iberville and Point Coupee Parishes.

In its efforts to reduce the crime problem in the Greater Baton Rouge Area, the nonprofit organization has implemented several successful initiatives: Violent Crime Unit, which consists of multiple law enforcement agencies and Crime Stoppers whose common goals are to protect life, ensure safety, and quickly bring to justice offenders who inflict violence in the community. Campus Crime Stoppers addresses “violence on school campuses."  Presentations are made to the student body which results in receiving tips that leads to arrest of students in possession of illegal narcotic, illegal weapons, stolen property, and bullying. Deadbeat Parents is an initiative that focuses on the location and apprehension of parents that have intentionally gotten behind in child support payments. Crime Stoppers Wanted Fugitive Segment features known wanted subjects, asking the community help in locating fugitives.
