Taylor Porter was a proud sponsor for the 2nd Annual South Louisiana Construction Economic Forum on Thursday, at L’Auberge Baton Rouge, as the forum featured a panel discussion with top executives from construction companies moderated by Dr. Loren Scott and a keynote address from Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne.

The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the Pelican Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. (ABC) hosted the event. Along with Taylor Porter, Hannis T. Bourgeois, LLP, and Regions Bank were also presenting sponsors of the event. As a presenting sponsor, Taylor Porter Managing Partner Skip Philips introduced Dardenne for the keynote address.

Economist Loren Scott led panelists Robert Boh, president of Boh Bros. Construction Co.; Steve Carville, chairman of Milton J. Womack Inc.; Saun Sullivan, senior partner of DSLD Homes; and Stephen Toups, senior vice president of Turner Industries Group. The panelists touched on a number of topics including the potential impact of President-elect Donald Trump's administration on the industry, the August floods' impact, increasing the state's gasoline tax to fund major infrastructure improvements and what percentage of the $80 billion megaprojects announced will actually be built.

All ticket proceeds from the event went to Habitat for Humanity in furtherance of its efforts to serve those affected by the floods in South Louisiana.
