Taylor Porter Welcomes Three New Associates

Taylor Porter is pleased to welcome its new associates, Scott M. Mansfield (Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, J.D., 2015); Lauren K. Rivera (Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, J.D., 2015); and Kelley R. Dick, Jr. (Southern University Law Center, J.D.,2015).

Below is more information on Scott, Lauren and Kelley:

Scott M. Mansfield practices in various areas of litigation, including commercial, general, oil and gas and insurance defense.

Scott graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2015, where he was a member of the Chancellor’s List and earned CALI Excellence Awards in Legal Research and Writing (I& II) and Civil Law Torts. While in law school, Scott also served as an editor of the Mineral Law Institute Newsletter and member of the Student Bar Association Ethics Committee.

Scott received his B.S. in Management from Louisiana State University in 2011. Prior to attending law school, Scott served his community as a commissioned deputy sheriff.

In the community, Scott serves on the Sigma Nu Fraternity (Phi Chapter) Alumni Board of Receivers and is a member of the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

Lauren K. Rivera practices in the Employment, Labor and Benefits area, as well as Products Liability.

Lauren was a former law clerk at Taylor Porter in 2014. She has also clerked for law firms in New Orleans and Lafayette where she gained experience in several practice areas including workers compensation, property disputes, construction contracts, insurance, products liability, premises liability, maritime, administrative law, and wrongful death and survival actions.

Lauren earned her J.D. in 2015 from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While in law school, Lauren was a Chancellor’s Scholar, served as a Senior Associate of the Louisiana Law Review and as the Managing Editor and Contributing News Writer for The Civilian newspaper. She earned the CALI awards in Louisiana Tort Law, Louisiana Law of Obligations, and Labor Law. She was also the Programming Director for the LSU Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta.

Prior to attending law school, Lauren lobbied for AARP Louisiana as a registered lobbyist with the Louisiana Board of Ethics. She also worked for Governor Jindal during his 2012 reelection campaign.

Lauren graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University, in 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a focus on Political Communications and a minor in History. She was also named to the Dean’s List. She worked at the LSU Golf Course and was the Director of Special Events for Delta Gamma sorority.

Kelley R. Dick, Jr. practices in various areas of litigation, including construction and commercial litigation.

Kelley was a former law clerk at Taylor Porter, both in 2013 and 2014. He has also clerked for law firms in New Orleans and Lafayette where he gained experience in several practice areas including insurance, maritime, energy, environmental, construction, civil litigation, health, and tax law.

Kelley received his J.D. in 2015 from Southern University Law Center, where he graduated first in the full-time day division. He served as Executive Editor on the Southern University Law Review editorial board and was a member of the Southern University Moot Court Board, the Grade Appeals Committee, and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Kelley also served as a teaching assistant for torts courses at the Law Center.

Before practicing law, Kelley was a former project manager/estimator/engineer for Orion Marine Group, Inc., where he aided in the bidding and completion of construction projects in South Louisiana, including the $17.8 million Bayou Lafourche Channel Capacity Improvements Project for the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District, and the $13.2 million Belle Chasse No. 2 Pump Station Project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Kelley earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Construction Management in 2010 from Louisiana State University. While at LSU, he served as Vice President of the Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter and Secretary of the Construction Student Association.
