Taylor Porter’s Katie Goodson Chairs “The Gala Goes Gatsby” Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Fundraiser

September 12, 2018

Taylor Porter attorney Katie Goodson is serving as the chair of the 2018 Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s “The Gala Goes Gatsby” fundraiser event to take place Thursday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m., at L’Auberge Baton Rouge. The event room will be transported to the 1920’s, and filled with jazz music, ladies dressed in their finest flapper dresses, and gentlemen donning their debonair suits. The new community fundraiser replaces Mary Bird’s annual event, “The Taste,” and is a conjoined effort between Mary Bird and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, which merged earlier this year to serve more cancer patients in one joint effort.

“I am honored to serve as a committee chair and work with Mary Bird for such an important event for our community to help raise money and improve treatments for our cancer patients and their families,” said Goodson, who reports that the event has successfully sold out. “I think our attendees will greatly enjoy a return to the roaring era of the 1920’s, and our event committee, along with the staff at Mary Bird, have worked hard to ensure a fun night, and also a successful night to raise a lot of money. I also want to thank all of the Baton Rouge businesses and corporate sponsors who have committed to our cause.”
