Womack Recognized for Outstanding Pro Bono Service by LSBA, Louisiana Supreme Court

Taylor Porter Partner Mac Womack was a recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association 2017 “Pro Bono Publico” award, presented at the annual Pro Bono Publico and Children’s Law Awards Ceremony, held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Louisiana Supreme Court Building in New Orleans. The LSBA, in conjunction with the Louisiana Supreme Court, annually recognizes the pro bono accomplishments of public interest legal professionals and law students during the awards ceremony.

Womack’s pro bono/volunteer work has covered more than 20 years: working at the Thirst for Justice program through BRBA and St. Vincent de Paul; accepting BRBA pro bono cases; and leading the Taylor Porter community outreach in response to the historic flooding, volunteering at the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center. He has appeared at Lawyers in the Classroom programs; graded Bar exams; and served at and brought food to the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen. He is a 2011 recipient of the Pro Bono Project’s Century Club Award, and a 2012 recipient of the Leah Hipple McKay Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism. 

Practicing law since 1979, Womack is a litigation attorney in health care, medical malpractice, and toxic tort. He serves as a former director for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations and the Defense Research Institute.

Womack received his J.D. in 1979, and B.S., in 1976, both from LSU.
