Taylor Porter Partner Erin Sayes Kenny will team up with LSU Law Center Professor John Church to present a Baton Rouge Bar Association CLE Seminar on "Pouring Into Wine Law: Developments & Trends in the Alcohol Beverage Industry." The seminar will take place via Zoom on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The seminar qualifies for 1.0 hour of CLE credit; the cost is $25 for BRBA members, and $35 for non-BRBA members.

Church will discuss branding, trademark and labeling issues unique to wine and other alcoholic beverages, while Kenny will give an overview of the three-tier regulatory system for alcohol manufacturing, wholesale distribution and retail sales. The discussion will focus on the retail tier and cover general permitting and compliance, as well as the impact of the pandemic on state law and regulations. Kenny will also discuss alcohol delivery laws, which were passed in 2019 and recently amended in this year’s legislative session.

There will be a wine tasting during this CLE. The wine is not included with the cost of the CLE and must be purchased separately for $27 online through Mathernes for in-store or curbside pick up at the downtown Matherne’s location.
