Taylor Porter presented a CLE Seminar, "Complex Legal & Regulatory Challenges Facing In-House Counsel," where attorneys covered the challenging issues that are confronting in-house legal departments, hosted by the Firm on Wednesday, Feb. 20. In front of in-house counsel from companies across Louisiana and Texas, attorneys covered practice areas and issues ranging from Data Security, and Construction Law to Insurance, Environmental to Ethics, and Labor and Employment to Medicare Compliance. The seminar was approved for seven hours of CLE credit by both the Louisiana State Bar Association and State Bar of Texas.

Data Security and Breach Response Strategies: Marc Whitfield has more than 30 years of experience in data security and data breach litigation, including working with healthcare clients in HIPAA and data licensing. Marc advises local clients in the development of data security plans. Marc also covers IP and trademark law; non-compete, trade secrets and unfair trade practices; business contracts, commercial transactions, and litigation. John Milazzo practices in commercial litigation and transactions. He advises clients in data breach response strategies, represents commercial banks in loan workouts, litigation and foreclosures and clients in contract disputes, and securities litigation. John drafts real estate documents, loan and security documents, UCC documents and governance agreements.

Environmental Legal Strategies for Acquisitions and Developments: Anne Crochet has more than 35 years in areas of environmental regulatory compliance advice, in securing environmental permits, defending enforcement actions, and protecting interests through litigation. Anne is the Practice Group leader for Taylor Porter’s Environmental Regulation and Litigation team. Tim Poché has close to 30 years of legal experience, representing clients on environmental issues across a range of industries including energy, petrochemical, wastewater, public utility, transportation, and solid and hazardous waste treatment and disposal. Tim counsels clients on compliance and permitting issues. Tommy Gildersleeve has a broad-based environmental and administrative law practice.
