Gene Groves practiced in civil litigation (federal and state), appellate law, corporate law, insurance law, construction law, regulatory law, and administrative law. Mr. Groves received a B.A. in 1967 from Louisiana State University and a J.D. in 1970 from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was the winner of the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Groves is the author of Chapter, Louisiana Civil Trial Procedure Practice Guide, American Inns of Court Series, Lawyers Cooperative Publishing (1997) (Post Trial Motions).
As a past-president of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Mr. Groves has been very active in both local and state bar association matters including serving as a member of the Louisiana State Bar Associations House of Delegates (1990-1998). He also is a member of the National Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
Mr. Groves is married and has three children and four grandchildren.
