John A. Milazzo, Jr.


John Milazzo is a Partner at Taylor Porter and practices in a variety of areas including commercial litigation, banking, construction, and transactions.

John represents commercial banks in loan workouts and litigation, including foreclosures, defense of lender liability suits, and bankruptcies. His construction practice includes representing owners, contractors, and suppliers in both litigation and drafting contractual agreements. He also represents other clients in contractual disputes, property rights disputes, securities litigation, and collections. His transactional work includes drafting business and real estate documents, corporate governance agreements, asset purchase agreements, loan and security documents, UCC documents, and master service agreements, among others. John is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts and in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana Bankers Association (Bank Counsel Section), and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Within Taylor Porter, John serves as the Firm's Chair of the Recruiting Committee.

In 2013, John graduated from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he was a member of multiple Moot Court competition teams. Prior to law school, John graduated from Millsaps College in 2009 and received his Masters of Business Administration from Millsaps’ Else School of Management in 2010. John was a captain of the Millsaps Majors football team and joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2010 before attending law school.

John lives in Baton Rouge with his wife Megan, and their son, John III.

When he is not practicing law, John enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and attending New Orleans Saints and LSU Football games.
