David J. Shelby II is a partner in the law firm of Taylor Porter, L.L.P., in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He received a Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1993 and was admitted to practice in Louisiana that same year.

David has over 20 years’ experience advising and representing clients in the following areas:

He has significant experience defending unfair labor practice claims and suits alleging employment discrimination. Mr. Shelby has defended complex multi-district litigation and routinely defends general liability claims for personal injuries, property damage, and economic loss arising from construction projects.

David’s clients include Louisiana State University, Dixie Electric Membership Corporation, Triad Electric, The Newtron Group, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

David is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, in the United States District Courts for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
