Garrett Callaway joined Taylor Porter in 2026 as Special Counsel and practices primarily in the area of medical malpractice defense. She has worked in private practice defending physicians and health care providers for the past seventeen years.
Garrett received her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Louisiana State University in 2004 and her J.D./B.C.L. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2007. Following law school, Garrett served as a law clerk to the Honorable R. Michael Caldwell in the 19th Judicial District Court from 2007-2009.
She has extensive experience representing physicians and health care providers in malpractice lawsuits, medical review panel proceedings and before the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Garrett has handled cases for a variety of medical specialties, including neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and anesthesiology, in the trial court and court of appeal and has argued successfully before the Louisiana Supreme Court. She has served as lead counsel and defended health care providers in numerous jury trials and bench trials in state district court. Garrett’s practice also includes advising health care providers regarding risk management issues and healthcare administration.
Garrett has served as faculty for LSU’s Trial Advocacy program and has given lectures to many medical groups. Garrett is a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and serves on the St. Aloysius School Advisory Committee. She is married and has two teenage boys.
