Yadira Crespo-Orosco joined Taylor Porter in 2022 and practices in general tort litigation, commercial litigation and insurance defense.
Since starting at Taylor Porter, Yadira has developed experience in both litigation and transactional matters, gaining significant courtroom and jury trial experience.
Yadira received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2022 where she was a Senior Editor for the Southern University Law Review and The Public Defender Newspaper. During her time at Southern University Law Center, Yadira received the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, Criminal Procedure, Louisiana Civil Procedure II, and Business Entities. She was also a member of the Latinx/Hispanic Law Students Organization, Women in Law Association, and the Pro Bono Association.
Some of Yadira’s publications include: “Concubine or Dependent: Perez v. Irby Construction Co. and the Antiquated Workers’ Compensation Statutes Barring Dependents,” published in Volume 48 of the Southern University Law Review and “Concubine or Dependent: Amendment to La. R.S. 23:1253 ‘Family-Member Doctrine,’” in The Baton Rouge Lawyer.
Prior to law school, Yadira earned her B.S. in Kinesiology, Pre-Med from Louisiana State University in 2018. Yadira is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish and has used these skills in her community outreach. She has worked as a translator at a health clinic catering to a mostly Latinx population where she translated for doctors, nurse practitioners and their patients.
Yadira continues her involvement in the community and has given presentations at local high schools through the VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Baton Rouge Program, most recently at Tara High School on the current laws and dangers surrounding social media.
In her free time, Yadira falls back on her Kinesiology degree and enjoys exercising, outdoor activities, trying new foods, contemplating home improvement ideas and time with family.
