Mary Coles is an Associate at Taylor Porter and practices in various areas of intellectual property law, including intellectual property licensing and litigation involving copyright, trademark, and trade secrets. Mary also practices in the areas of general tort litigation, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, and insurance defense. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and in the United States District Courts for the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Mary received her J.D./D.C.L. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2024. While in law school, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Sports Law. Mary has experience as a Teaching Assistant for Professor John Devlin at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. There she was also a Research Assistant for Professor Christina M. Sautter, where she investigated game theory and its application to wireless and retail investors.
Mary received her BFA, magna cum laude, in theatre with a musical theatre emphasis from Texas Christian University in May 2021.
Mary was featured in 225 Magazine’s “Twenty in their 20’s” issue in 2024 which celebrates young leaders and creators in Baton Rouge. She also enjoys volunteering at Healing Place Church and serving as a mentor with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge.
